Prime ECS began some 30 years ago in Southern California when founder Derrick Thames was turning 17. While most kids in their late teens were surfing or starting college, Derrick focused instead on business. He was always “that kid” with endless optimism and a desire to make it on his own while pursuing his passion for technology and gadgets.
Derrick’s father was a military man who loved music, and instilled a keen sense of discipline. His mother or “Mutti”, as he actually calls her, was born in Germany where she met his father while stationed there. “I can confidently express that my family and roots are humble, steeped in discipline, tradition, and high ethical standards,” remarks Thames.

Throughout the years, Derrick has had the great fortune working with leaders in the architecture, design, and construction community from the Bay area, Los Angeles, and Orange County. He learned the significance of teamwork and unparalleled customer service.
